Cash only! The rotisserie chicken with rice and beans was delicious! I think these were the best beans I've ever had. I also got a chicken pastelillo. Not bad for just $2.50 in NYC, but if I came back I would prob wouldn't reorder. We went around 2:30pm and ended up waiting for about 20-30 min for a big group ahead of us to finish up. There's one table that can seat up to 8 people, 2 tables that seat 4 people, and one more table that can seat 6 people. I think there's a bathroom in the back. There's no AC of course. This is one of those neighborhood establishments that remains happily in the twentieth century with its cash only and handwritten receipts.

I went to Casa Adela in LES. A lil gem in the city. Puerto Rican vibe all the way. I got there and was immediately greeted and took my ordet. I got an alcapurria , while I waited. It was Delicious. Tasty, well seasoned and really, really good. I ordered the mofongo with a side of pernil. Absolutely divine it even had cuerito on top. I will absolutely go back whenever I'm in LES. Truly a hidden gem in the concrete jungle I call home NYC.

I came back here a few days ago and brought my husband to eat here. It was his 1st time. He was so surprised how genuinely authentic & delicious everything was. He has already asked me to come back w/ him to eat here again. We ordered the rotisserie chicken, sancocho, yellow rice & beans, tostones, chuleta, pastelon. Rotisserie chicken - One of the most juiciest, most tender, well seasoned rotisserie chicken we have both eaten. Highly recommended! WOW! Sancocho (soup) - This soup is still as good as the 1st time I tried it. It is authentic and so flavorful and delicious! The best sancocho we both had! Also highly highly recommended! Yellow rice & beans - One of the best, most delicious & well seasoned yellow rice & beans we have had. This has so much flavors, it's amazzzzing! Also highly highly recommended! Tostones (comes w/ some garlic oil dip) - Super crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. It is well seasoned & when eaten w/ the garlic oil dip - it was even more delicious! Loved it! Chuleta (pork chop) - One of the most tender, well seasoned pork chops I have eaten. My husband also agreed. It was soooo delicious & I love chuletas so much that this is my most favorite one I have eaten in NYC so far. Pastelon - This item shocked us the most. It was truly orgasmic! It had so many flavors - sweet, savory, cheesey, etc. It was amazing and super delicious! I would get 2 of this next time we come back (one to eat there & one to take home). Super super super delicious! Highly highly highly recommended! Please order this - it will change your life. Staff were all very sweet and friendly. This place gets busy, but it is worth the wait! Cash only

This place was so cool super hole in the wall vibes! I could smell the chicken before entering the restaurant, so I knew this place is going to be good. I got a whole chicken and the smell was amazing! I also got the fried plantains with garlic oil as a side that comes with it. The order came out really fast too The chicken was moist and flavorful and I was really satisfied with the meal at the end.

CASH ONLY*** I wish I would have read that in the reviews prior to arrival, but stuff happens! If you don't have cash, there's an ATM next door. Being Boricua and from Florida, I had high expectations for this meal. We ordered wayyy too much food, but everything was so good. My personal favorite was the pernil and the tostones, honorable mention for the habichuelas rojas. This is a real local spot, it seems to be a family running it. The place was packed the entire time we were sat (about an hour), with a line literally out the door. That's how you know it's good! The only thing I'd pass on if I were to return would be the papa rellenas, they were fried hard almost like an alcapurria and it took away from the flavor inside.

I had wanted to try casa Adela for the longest and finally made it happen. We went in on a thurs for dinner for four. When we got there, there was only a table for two but the workers quickly told us it would only be a few mins before it was available. We were sat down and were able to order rather quickly. When we sat down there were so many tables available and then around 8pm, it got packed. It isn't a gigantic space so beware when going for dinner rush. We ordered arroz con gandules, 1/2 pollo, mofongo con pernil, carne guisada with rice and beans and mofongo de camaron. EVERYTHING was delicious. You could tell everything is like homemade and fresh with the tastiest flavors. I especially loved the mofongo de camaron because it comes with this sauce that compliments everything well. Can't wait to go back and try more items!

I have been to 87 Diners Drive Ins and Dives, this place deserves to be on that show and would be in my top 10! It is small inside, but worth the wait! We ordered 1/2 Rotisserie Chicken; Pechuga De Pollo Empanizado (breaded chicken breast), Mofongo with a side of Pernil (Deep - Fried green plantains mashed together with Garlic ,Roast Pork and Chicharon), Maduros (Fried Sweet Plantains), Red Kidney, Black, and Pinto Beans, flan and some kind of friend cornmeal with fruit and crème filling! The food was amazing! We like to order a lot to try out what they have. Best flan I've had! I almost never give a 5 * rating, normally you get. 4 unless you are amazing...hence, this place gets a 5. I've been to Puerto Rico 3 times, and another Puerto Rican restaurant from DSD, this was the best I've had. You gotta try it if you're nearby!

It was my friends birthday and she wanted Puerto Rican food. It's a small spot with less than 10 tables inside. We waited for an hour outside in the heat and humidity. After we were seated and ordered I had to flag down a bus boy because we weren't given water with our water cups. However the food was excellent and almost made up for the long wait. I had the carne asada and it was tender and I loved the onions and plantains as well. Tip: this place is cash only!

YOU MUST plan accordingly. CASH ONLY!! CASH ONLY!! The long wait will be worth it!! Trust me!. If you're in a rush, take out will be a faster option.. As a kid my abuela and titi would make all the typical Rican dishes. The had their own way of making traditional dishes like Mofongo, alcapurrias, and delicious chuletas. I remember vaguely coming here way back with my cousins, getting alcapurrias to go. I then saw on Tiktok and my memories came back. The wait was long, but it was nice chatting with Luis the owner, who treats all of his patrons like family. This visit I got: Sancocho. Absolutely delicious!! The rich broth and tasty pieces of oxtail to say the least. Mofongo their specialty.. reminded me of my family's recipe (but better) don't tell them lol. Drink ok yall yall got to try this , the name is funny but it's called: Morir Sonanado. ( to die while dreaming) Orange juice, milk, cinnamon sugar and vanilla. Very refreshing and a great choice to wash down your meal. Get a lot of alcapurrias to go!! I'm definitely coming back.
